White Power! - White Flour?

On May 20th the VNN Vanguard Nazi/KKK tried to hold a rally in Knoxville, Tennessee. However, they didn't count on facing down the 100th Anti Racist Action Clown Block. The clowns found it difficult to understand the racists and a breakdown in communication led the leader of the racist group to lunge at them in a fit of rage and get himself arrested. Asheville Indymedia ran a great story on the event... well worth a read. Nedless to say the stoopid noses went home with their tails between their legs and the clowns triumphed... well done clowns!

Planarity Addiction

Try John Tantalo's seriously addictive Planarity. From the FAQ: There is no last level, but if you get past 10 or so then consider yourself in select company. So let it waste an hour of your life...

Seinfeld goes to Prison

Oz and Seinfeld are two of my favourite TV programs but I never imagined that they could combine. At the end of the last episode of Seinfeld, Jerry and the others were thrown in prison, and this Saturday Night Live sketch shows what happens after Gerry is transferred from regular prison to maximum security prison...

Bumper Cars on Ice

Here's a video showing why it's dangerous to drive in icy conditions (all hail conservation of momentum!). The video was shot in Portland, Oregon and there's a related article here in the Oregonian.

You can play with cars on ice in this flash bumper car game.

Like a Football in the Wind

Here's a video showing what happens when you play football in a little wind. It happened during a game played in the South African Premier League last week between the Orlando Pirates and the Black Leopards (there's an article here). Three players and a linesman down!

Captain Planet in Belfast

I don't know if anyone remembers Captain Planet, a really annoying cartoon about an annoying superhero and five equally annoying kids with fancy annoying rings and annoying special powers. They went around saving the planet and making environmentalism "cool". This clip from an episode set in Belfast sums up the show completely. If only we listened to Captain Planet, we could truly make the world a better place. And check out the dodgy accents! It's programs like Captain Planet that make South Park's Rainforest Schmainforest episode so good!

Sulfur hexafluoride

Everyone knows that a lung full of Helium makes the pitch of your voice rise. This is due to the speed of sound through the gas, and is safe because Helium is inert (and so doesn't burn or react with the contents of your lungs). Well, Sulfur hexaflouride is an inert gas that is both heavier than air and allows sound to travel through it significantly slower. Here's a cool video that demonstrates these features.
